Dissemination of farmer registration results

The Pilot Farmer registration was conducted as the first phase of efforts by MAAIF to have all farming households registered. The overall objective of farmer registration is create a central database at the Ministry Data Centre of all farming households in the country to aid in evidence based planning.

The pilot was carried out in five districts of Amuru, Iganga, Kalungu, Nebbi and Ntungamo.

The pilot exercise was able to list 156,497 farming households from 2,862 villages, 272 Parishes, 56 sub counties. Amuru recorded 18,096 farming households, Iganga 26,188, Kalungu 24,766, Nebbi 31,273, and Ntungamo 56,174 farming Households.

Results were disseminated to the district leadership including the CAO, LCV, RDC DPMO and Sub county chiefs.
